Meet your broker
Sausalito's most experienced floating home broker — and the only one who is also a licensed mortgage broker. One person for both the home and the loan.
His story
Paul Bergeron first walked onto a Sausalito dock in 1984 and never really left. Over four decades he has bought, built, remodeled, brokered, and personally owned floating homes across Richardson Bay — more than 20 of them — and closed over 50 floating home transactions. Few people alive know these properties the way he does, from the flotation up.
What sets Paul apart isn't just the years. He holds both a real estate broker's license (DRE #01356345) and a mortgage broker's license (NMLS #399152). In a market where most agents have to hand financing off to a lender who has never funded a floating home, Paul does both jobs himself. He writes the offer with the loan already in mind, taps the specialty marine and private lenders he's worked with for years, and keeps the whole deal under one roof.
For floating-home buyers, that combination is rare and it matters. Financing is where these deals most often fall apart. Having the person who understands the home also arrange the loan removes the gap where surprises hide.
